BMF Partner Tara Clary and Attorney Fiona Puglese secured a $1.2 million verdict for the family of a 77-year-old woman who died during surgery at Greater Baltimore Medical Center (GBMC) in February 2023. Their work in this case was recently featured in The Daily Record, highlighting their dedication to patient advocacy and accountability in medical malpractice.
Tara Clary told The Daily Record that the patient “would have had years left on this earth. Once the bleeding happened, [the surgeon] went through some—but not all—of the steps that can be utilized to stop the bleeding.”
The Baltimore County jury agreed that the hospital’s systemic failures contributed to Angela Faulcon’s death, finding the hospital liable for medical negligence.
“So often, we minimize the passing of someone who was elderly from medical negligence,” Tara said. “She did, in fact, have life left in her.”
