At Brockstedt Mandalas Federico LLC, we believe in making a difference not only in the courtroom but also in our community. Each year, our team proudly supports several charitable causes and local events that align with our values of compassion, advocacy, and service.
Below are some of the causes we are honored to participate in and sponsor annually:
Dewey Goes Pink

Every October, our firm sponsors and participates in Dewey Goes Pink — a 5K run and celebration in Dewey Beach, Delaware, that raises funds for the Delaware Breast Cancer Coalition. This vibrant event honors those affected by breast cancer and brings our community together in the fight for awareness, research, and support.
Walk to End Alzheimer’s – Wilmington, DE
We are proud sponsors of the Walk to End Alzheimer’s – Wilmington, DE, joining thousands of others in the movement to end Alzheimer’s disease. Through fundraising and participation, we help advance the care, support, and research efforts of the Alzheimer’s Association.
Ben Campbell Memorial 5K
The Ben Campbell Memorial 5K holds a special place in our hearts. Ben was one of our firm’s bright young attorneys, known for his integrity, kindness, and dedication to helping others. Following his unfortunate accident, we proudly sponsor and participate in this annual event that celebrates Ben’s life and legacy.
Participation in Adopt-A-Highway
Attorneys and staff of the Wilmington office and the Lewes/Georgetown offices participate in DelDOT’s Adopt-A-Highway program, where individuals and businesses pledge to keep sections of public highways free of litter by conducting cleanups. The Wilmington office will monitor the section of Foulk Road from Silverside Road to the Pennsylvania state line. The Lewes/Georgetown offices will patrol Pilottown Road from Lewes’s Canalfront Park to Ocean View Boulevard.

The attorneys and staff from the firm’s Wilmington office met on June 3 for the Adopt-A-Highway project on Foulk Road. Buoyed by perfect summer weather, the group gathered more than 9 bags of trash along the busy road. Afterward, the group enjoyed lunch at Stanley’s Tavern and plan to organize the next cleanup for September.

Support for Pegasus Scholarship
The Honorable Randy J. Holland, formerly of the Delaware Supreme Court, was an icon in the American Inns of Court movement. Prior to his death in 2022, Justice Holland was a longstanding supporter of international cultural and legal exchange—with a special fondness for the American-English connection. Firm in his belief that no understanding of the American legal system is complete without a working knowledge of the English legal system, Justice Holland wrote and co-authored several books devoted to that principle.
As president of the American Inns of Court from 2000 to 2004, and in the many years that followed, Justice Holland enthusiastically backed the Pegasus Scholarship program. The program selects two young American Inns of Court scholars to travel to England annually to enhance their knowledge of the English legal system. Likewise, two British scholars travel to the United States annually to enhance their knowledge of the American legal system.
In honor of Justice Holland, the American Inn of Courts renamed the Pegasus Scholarship as the Randy J. Holland Pegasus Scholarship. BMF has recognized Justice Holland’s devotion to legal scholarship, and particularly the Pegasus Scholarship, by donating to the endowment fund annually since 2024.
Southern Delaware Therapeutic Riding
The firm supports the goal of Southern Delaware Therapeutic Riding, which is to improve the physical and emotional wellbeing of children and adults living with disabilities through equine assisted services in a supportive environment for riders and families. The facility, located in Milton, depends on volunteers and donations to provide its services and care for the horses.
Sussex County Land Trust
Many of the firm attorneys and staff are active supporters of the Sussex County Land Trust, which was created to protect the natural, cultural, agricultural, and recreational resources that define Sussex County’s character. What began as a grassroots partnership between the public and private sectors has grown into a countywide conservation leader with over 6,400 acres preserved through collaboration, community support, and strategic investment.
From early agricultural easements and landmark projects like the Wolfe House and Cannon–Maston restorations, to signature conservation achievements such as the Forest of the Broadkill Preserve, Hopkins Preserve, Nanticoke Crossing Park, and the Delaware Botanic Gardens, SCLT’s work has continually evolved to meet the needs of a growing county while safeguarding its open spaces.
Habitat for Humanity
The Sussex County Habitat for Humanity was founded in 1991 as an independent affiliate of Habitat for Humanity international and has served over 2,500 individuals throughout Sussex County through home construction and preservation, home repairs, financial literacy. and energy efficient upgrades.
Each year SCHFH brings together thousands of volunteers and community members to become part of the solution to Sussex County’s affordable housing need. To date, Sussex County Habitat has built or rehabbed and sold 199 homes.
Sussex Strong
Members of the Sussex County Association of REALTORS work year-round to better the lives of those in Sussex County who need food, clothing, housing, and more. The firm’s attorneys and staff attend and support the fundraiser gala each autumn so that the program can give generously to those in need.
Our Promise
Community service is part of who we are. Whether through sponsorships, volunteering, or advocacy, Brockstedt Mandalas Federico remains committed to giving back to the people and causes that strengthen our region and inspire hope.
