BMF attorneys hosted a town hall for Salisbury residents last week to address ongoing PFAS contamination linked to Perdue AgriBusiness and to share updates on the firm’s investigation.
At the meeting, Partner Phil Federico challenged Perdue’s recent report on the contamination, noting that BMF continues to identify wells in the area testing positive for “forever chemicals.”
“It’s in the lagoons, they’ve done some excavation. It’s in other places on their property,” Federico said. “They’re not telling anything about that. And they’re not cleaning it up. So they would like to create the appearance that they’ve solved the problem, but they haven’t.”
Two lawsuits against Perdue remain pending, including a class action seeking compensatory damages and a separate case alleging violations of federal environmental laws.
BMF continues to call for expanded testing, stronger wastewater treatment, and removal of contaminated soil to prevent further harm to nearby homes and waterways.
