On behalf of two local residents, we have filed a lawsuit under the Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA), alleging that Perdue AgriBusiness continues to unlawfully dispose of PFAS-laced waste from its Salisbury facility. The complaint alleges this waste is contaminating groundwater, surface water, and private drinking wells in the surrounding community.
This filing builds on a pending class action brought last year on behalf of more than 500 Salisbury residents, many of whom have experienced health impacts from prolonged PFAS exposure.
Perdue’s recent response does not begin to address the scale of the crisis. The company’s well testing and its filtration installation fail to include roughly half of the affected homes, leaving hundreds of families without access to clean drinking water. Perdue is prioritizing production and profit over the safety and health of this community. The people living here deserve better.
