WUSA9 reported on a class action lawsuit filed by Brockstedt Mandalas Federico, alongside co-counsel Keilty Bonadio, against former rheumatologist Dr. James Curtis Roberson II, who is accused of sexually harassing patients at MedStar facilities in Maryland and Virginia, and MedStar Health.
The lawsuit alleges that Dr. Roberson inappropriately touched patients during medical examinations, and that MedStar Health failed to adequately protect those in its care. Dr. Roberson’s Maryland medical license was suspended in October 2025 and permanently revoked in February 2026 following an investigation by the Maryland State Board of Physicians following patients’ complaints. MedStar suspended and later terminated Dr. Roberson following the Board’s investigation.
Brockstedt Mandalas Federico Partner Philip Federico shared: “Historically, MedStar Health has prioritized patient safety. I am hopeful and confident that they will approach this situation in the same way. We look forward to securing justice on behalf of the patients who were impacted by Dr. Roberson’s misconduct.”
