On behalf of the Salisbury community, BMF sent a 90-day Notice of Intent to Sue Perdue Farms under the Resource Conservation and Recovery Act.
BMF Partner Phil Federico was featured in The Cool Down discussing the legal action, which demands that Perdue stop discharging PFAS—also known as “forever chemicals”—into local drinking water and groundwater through its wastewater systems and sludge fertilizer practices.
“Every day that goes by, people’s risk of getting cancer and other health problems from PFAS-contaminated groundwater continues,” said Phil Federico. “We’ve got to get them clean water now and stop this. This risk that they’re being exposed to.”
This notice follows a class action lawsuit filed last year in federal court, where BMF represents more than 500 Salisbury residents.
